Requirements & Resources for Residents of The West House
Each Resident will attend a minimum of four A.A., N.A., or C.A. meetings per week. They must have a qualified A.A. Sponsor and be actively working the twelve steps of A.A. with that Sponsor. An approved sponsor will be assigned if appropriate. He must also make one of the meetings he attends his Home Group, and become active in that Home Group.
Each Resident must be working, actively looking for employment, doing volunteer work, or attending school. Each Resident will attend a weekly House Meeting and in house AA meeting. Formal meditations and 12 step lectures are provided daily; current week can be found below. Everybody is expected to attend unless job or school schedule prevent it. A detailed outline of these expectations can be found in The Living Agreement.
A minimum 3 month commitment is expected
We have a zero-tolerance policy. Any Resident who has broken his sobriety will be asked to leave immediately. Alcohol and drug tests will be administered upon arrival, and randomly from that point forward. If there is suspicion of use, a test will be given immediately by the house manager. If the test is refused it will be taken as an admission of guilt and the Resident will be asked to leave.
The tests at any point may be witnessed. If a Resident is suspected of possessing any contraband, his person and possessions may be searched. Any Resident that has knowledge of another using must report that knowledge to the house manager at once. Any Resident hiding knowledge will be complicit in the using and will also be asked to leave.
Each resident of The West House will be expected and held accountable to following the “black and white” of our residential living agreement.
