Frequently Asked Questions
-
How much does it cost?
Once residing at The West House, the monthly cost is $1000 per month. The initial cost to enter the house is $1,200. This initial payment includes one month of rent and a one time administration fee of $200.
-
What is the typical time residents stay there?
We require a minimum of a 3 month stay. We have found that to be the time period that is required to gain anything out of our program. There is no limit to how long guys can stay at the house. As long as they are gaining something from the house they are welcome to stay. Most residents live at the house around 6 months, at which time they move into a less structured sober living environment.
-
How long do I need to be sober to be admitted?
Every new resident must pass a UA test for drugs and alcohol to be admitted. We prefer the resident to come directly from a 30 day rehab (door-to-door), but each situation is different and depends on many factors. Dishonesty surrounding last use will result in immediate discharge or disapproval for admittance.
-
Do I cook my own food?
Each resident is responsible for cooking and obtaining their own food. The kitchens are fully equipped and contain three refrigerators. Those at the house will often carpool to the grocery store, though it is also directly on a bus line. For families who want to set up their loved ones with some money for food, a good alternative to cash is a Hannafords gift card. They can be purchased online.
-
Do you have single occupancy rooms?
All our rooms are double occupancy rooms with twin beds.
-
Do you currently have any available beds?
The availability of beds is constantly in flux. With 16 resident beds, they open up frequently and unexpectedly. To begin the process, fill out our online application and we will contact you as soon as a bed becomes available, for a follow up interview.
